Being our final week of work, everyone on the team brought their absolute best to the remaining portion of the game. For me, this was knocking out all the remaining assets we'd need for a complete implementation.
Final Assets: Bonfire and Boss Door
My final visual contributions to the game came in the form of the bonfire, used to recover the player's health, and the boss door leading into the boss room. Both of these assets utilize existing flame textures for the player and the boss respectively to give a sense of association to their respective entities.
Final Tiles: Vermillion Summit Extras
Another thing I managed to get done this week were some extra tiles for the Vermillion Summit level of the game. These were made at the request of Nathan, and act to give some more connectivity between the tiles' outer lining that would not have been there without these additional tiles.
Final Sounds: Sound Effect Extras
Finally, I managed to record the final sound effects needed for the audio portion of the game. Originally, Jonathan had taken it upon himself to complete the sound effects I had not yet recorded prior to this week. However, upon finishing those recordings he found that there were some extra sounds that he needed. So, in addition to refining the exisiting sound effects we had, I recorded and created some additional sound effects. These included a door opening sound and a lever activation sound.
Reflection
This week the full team really put in everything we could to produce the best game possible in the time we had. As a result, we created a fully playable almost multi-hour gaming experience that we can all be very proud of moving forward. I have nothing but thanks for this team, and I hope we can do more work like this in the future sometime.
That's all from me for now though, so til next time; whenever that may be.
